A furniture importer in Western Australia ordered a full container of office furniture from a factory in Guangdong. Desks, chairs and storage units — a mixed 20GP load, consolidated at origin in Nansha before sailing.

Sea FCL was the right call. The order was big enough to fill a 20-foot container on its own, and keeping it on one house bill avoided the double handling an LCL shipment would have gone through at both the origin and destination hubs.

For furniture into Australia, the real gate is not freight — it is biosecurity. DAFF inspects timber and timber-derived products, and a container that arrives with unmarked or non-compliant wooden packaging can sit in a hold for days while the paperwork is argued.

That is why we checked the ISPM15 marks on every pallet and the packaging declaration before the container left Nansha, and why the container itself was clean and free of any organic residue. The client’s cargo was declared accurately against the packing list — no vague descriptions that invite a second look.

The result was a first-presentation clearance: the container moved through Fremantle without a hold and was delivered to the importer’s warehouse in the Perth area, where the furniture went straight into stock. From gate to delivery the shipment ran inside the standard 16–22 day window for this lane.
